Outside of pharmacy, Dr. McKinney enjoys time with her family, hiking, exploring local breweries and after the pandemic is looking forward to live music at festivals.

Katie Clark McKinney is a dedicated pharmacy practice leader at the local, state and national levels. Dr. McKinney received her PharmD from the University of Cincinnati and completed PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residencies at Grant Medical Center (Columbus, OH). She started her career with UC Health in 2009 as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Drug Policy/Formulary Management and Clinical Coordinator at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Her collaborative spirit and servant leadership elevated her in the organization to Assistant Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services and Research, then to her current role as Director of Pharmacy Services. With the pharmacy leadership team, UCMC has received practice site awards for the 2014 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Residency Expansion Grant and 2017 Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Medication Safety Award. As an adjunct professor for the UC College of Pharmacy since 2011, Dr. McKinney precepts students in APPE rotations, and strengthens the Pharmacy Leadership program as a member of the Advisory Board. She has served both the Greater Cincinnati Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists through their presidential progressions and serves the Cincinnati Community through several professional and non-profit organizations.
